My first ever experience of translating was as a child, when I started translating the words to English pop songs into Korean. My love of words only grew as I studied, so I decided to turn my passion into a career.
As part of my studies, I spent a semester immersed in English culture at the University of Leicester. Travelling in North America, Australia and Asia, I learned how to adapt to foreign cultures, which helped me better understand the importance and mechanics of translation. I also picked up a good level of spoken Japanese along the way.
I work from home, and have created my own little home café brimming with coffee beans. It’s coffee that keeps me going when I have tight deadlines to meet, but I also enjoy a cup when curled up with a good book at the weekends.
